Columbus has grown up in a seaman's family. At every voyage he takes a little different route to find perhaps a definite passage for China or India. Only at his fourth voyage he has the idea that he could hav missed "India".

At the end Columbus is captured by the Spanish Crown because of general failure and other seamen are stealing his maps and are occupying parts of Southern "America".

Columbus dies without title, but he is not poor because he possesses parts of a mine in Santo Domingo. The native slaves are working for him, too...

Historiography in this book is censored and all trips to "America" by Africans, Celts and Vikings before Columbus are not mentioned. All the trips of before are mentioned e.g. in the book "Columbus was the last" (original in German: "Kolumbus kam als Letzter").
