[8.] Appendix. Income and Expenditure of JDC: 1914-1939

JDC accounts were meticulously audited, and consequently accurate figures for general income and expenditure are available. However, when it came to expenditures in particular countries, questions arose as to what to include in them. Should HICEM expenditures in France be included in accordance with the proportion of HICEM funds originating from the JDC budget? Should emigration from one country to another be registered under the country of emigration or the country of immigration? For these and other reasons there are very considerable discrepancies between the figures for individual areas. The following are the overall figures. (p.305)

-- 39-Germany, reports;
-- Executive Committee, 1/26/39 [26 Jan 1939];
-- R21-1939 draft;
-- R9, aid for overseas.
